Tanning accelerators stimulate the tanning process by activating the skin’s constituents. The brown color appears when melanin is produced. Most tanning accelerators contain Tyrosine; as melanin is, in fact, the Amino Acid Tyrosine, a Tyrosine oxidation results when using a tanning accelerator.
